This cat is believed to bring good luck to the owner. Usually made of ceramic or plastic, one cat paw raised and moving in a back and forth in a beckoning gesture. It's said to be calling good luck to come in. It is normally displayed in homes, stores, restaurants, and other establishments near the entrance.
